Gene "Two Gun" MowryGene "Two Gun" Mowry was one of my best buddies growing up in East Bloomfield and Holcomb. Early on in the late 1930's he lived with his mother and father, Roy and Myrtabelle, on the north side of State Street two or three houses east of the Methodist Church. Later on in the early 1940's they moved to the north side of Main Street in Holcomb. We were about the same age but he was a year behind me in school. We played cowboy and indians a lot; he was always the cowboy with two guns. Our fight scenes were often done to classical music; we had an old wind-up Victrola and Liszt's "Les Preludes" was often used because it was used in the "Lone Ranger" radio program. Paul and Two Gun in about 1941 We did our part for the cause during WWII by drawing pictires of the generals and leaders on both sides of the conflict. Two Gun was a much better artist than me. Below is a photo of Two Gun with several other East Bloomfield and Holcomb friends taken by me in the snow in the late 1940's.
