Elton Park
This view of the park is from a post card of the 1930s or 1940s. The monument and circle of cannons were erected in memory of the area's Civil War veterans. Uncle Joe was principal at the East Bloomfield Academy, across South Avenue to the right, in the late 1890s and/or early 1900s and remembers the installation of the monument. In the 1930s and 1940s, the Bullock boys, Bob, Cal, and Paul, would play softball in the area to the right off the picture. The Methodist Church is to the left across Park Street.
Cal is giving one of the Eddy boys a ride on his bike in Elton Park. This photo was taken in about 1940.
