Clark Canning Factory
The Bullock boys, Bob, Cal and Paul, all worked summers and part time in the 1940s at the Clark Canning factory in Holcomb. The pond, office building, and yard of the plant are shown in the lower right of the photo. The actual plant buildings are off the picture to the right. The very light area in the yard is the concrete pad where loads of corn, peas, beans, cabbage, etc. were dropped off by the farmer's trucks. The village of Holcomb is in the upper part of the photo. Phil took this photo in about 1947 from Charlie Nearing's plane.
This bird's eye view is from 2009 Bing Maps. The Clark Canning Factory was located on this area. Note that the pond, although much smaller, is still there.
